The Borderline is thirsty for the narcissist’s alternate reality, and the shared fantasy is the perfect escape from a real world that is simply too excruciating to endure

Borderline personality disorder is a maladaptive response to trauma and other negative catalysts that compel the individual to develop survival techniques. There are alterations to the threat response system that is chronically turned on so that the person has to adjust and regulate which can cause emotional alterations that take them from 0–100 in a heartbeat.

There are actually dual changes in the structure of the brain, neuro-chemical functionings, neuroplasticity in early childhood, and all of these changes are more impactful in younger children. There is a neurological basis to what is going on with a person with BPD that is undeniable.

With a reduction of stress, management of emotions, and team of professionals showing the way, there can be recovery from BPD. The brain experiences neuro genesis which is profound change and growth that can repair the damage done.
