The Narcissist Is Not Your Soul Mate or Twin Flame

After the narcissist has discarded you in the most unimaginably cold and heartless fashion, you feel like you will die. And in many ways, you do. You think you are grieving over the loss of true love. The narcissist never loved you, and you never loved them. It is something else entirely.

On some level you knew this person before you even met them, or rather, you knew their ways. In a strange way, they are family to you.

Many people have embraced the concept of a “twin flame.”

Twin flames, also called mirror souls, are terms to describe a relationship rooted in new-age metaphysical ideology. The concept has seen increased popularity in recent times. It promotes the idea of an intense soul connection between two people thought to be each other's half.

Twin flames are not the same thing as soul mates. While twin flames are thought to be one soul split into two bodies, soul mates are simply two separate souls that are extraordinarily linked. The main difference between a twin flame and a soul mate is that you can have many different soul mates and only one twin flame.

So why is this a problematic belief when it comes to narcissists who leverage these ideas to future fake and entrain…
