Most of us know the story. The tragedy of falling between the cracks, not getting the help needed, transforming into something beastly in the absence of rescue.

The story of the Joker goes like this.

The Joker is a cold-blooded lunatic with an maniacal smile who uses “venom” to poison victims in a way that leaves a macabre grin on teir faces in his fst crime spree detailed in ta he first DC Comic iterations of an ever evolving character.

Next, Detective Comics #168 revealed that the Joker was once the Red Hood, a masked criminal who fell into a vat of acid while attempting to escape from Batman. When he emerged from the cauldron, the villain was cursed with green hair, corpse-white skin, and that unnerving perma-grin (Rolling Stone, Dec. 2019).

Before long, the Joker became a Batman favorite villain with his colorful clown meets pimp style suits, strangely disturbing yet seductive dance moves, and an insane laugh like a wounded animal and inconsolable baby combined. Everyone saw Heath Ledger’s final performance as the Joker before his tragic death, and now Joaquin Phoenix reprises the role with an equally compelling performance.
