Intro: A little ditty to the tune of the Oscar Mayer wiener song.

I wish I were a Factor 1 Psychopath

That’s what I’d truly like to be.

Cause if I were a Primary Psychopath

Everyone would be in love with me.

  • I thought about what holiday message I would like to send out into the world this year. This is it. It is a clarification followed by an observation and ending with a cautionary word. Sharing is caring. Give some food for thought this season.

Coyne and Thomas (2008) define factor 1 primary psychopaths as “individuals who generally show low levels of anxiety, empathy, fear, and emotion due to some intrinsic deficit rather than due to environmental or emotional difficulties.” Factor 2 secondary psychopaths are a little more “human” with a relatively normal capacity for emotional experience but may have an excess of negative emotions and high levels of anxiety and emotional distress, hostility, aggression, and impulsive behavior.
