Some aspects of life are beyond your control, and I am reminded of that once again as a friend recently drew this card for me and sent it to me in the mail. She attached a little note that said, “This says it all, sis. Get well soon.” The Eight of Swords is a sign of captivity, implying that something is actively holding you back. You most likely feel frustrated, confused, and anxious. The best course of action is to focus on the one thing you do have control over — yourself.

A huge, towering metropolis on top of a hill can be seen in the distance (for me, it is San Francisco, where he lives), along with a broad, open valley riddled with puddles and pieces of water everywhere (Silicon Valley where I live after the recent floods).
