NPD is dissociative with schizoid underpinnings and usually comorbidities such as addiction, psychopathy, anti-social personality disorder, and even borderline. It is often a trauma response involving splitting, and it is a delusional disorder.

Having dissociative disorder does not mean you have NPD, but dissociative disorder is one of many symptoms/manifestations of NPD.
