If You Love a Monster. . .

The malignant pathological narcissist is a beast beneath all the glitter and glam, and the world thinks you knew their dirty little secret all along and defended them anyway.

Before some of you get your britches in a wad, I’m not off base when I use the word “monster” in place of “pathological covert narcissist.” I will defend that by saying, although they are mentally ill trauma victims themselves and worthy of pity for the tragedy that is their lives, they do monstrous things that cause death and destruction to all those around them. So, as sweet and lovely as they may be from time to time, and pathetically broken and abused as they probably were, it doesn’t matter. If you do monstrous things, repeatedly and without remorse, I get to call you a monster. And while the monstrous side of you may not always be evident or visible, the darkness of spirit and absence of being is the hard reality that lurks beneath the perfect and charming veneer. I’m sure every mass murderer, serial killer, child abuser, and depraved criminal in prison has a tragic story of how mistreated they were, and how they were the victim when they were young.

At some point, it doesn’t matter. What matters is what you do. Your actions are your character. Haven’t you heard that before? So if…
