I do not understand how so many people can totally ignore things like Covid pandemic, climate disasters, impending collapse of systems, infrastructure failures, and food insecurity. Everybody just acts like nothing is happening. At least most of the Americans I know act that way. I am a teacher and I got long Covid complications after catching Covid from my students back in January. I am 65 years old and still teaching because my husband just suddenly left one day a couple of years back. I have to keep working because I’m all alone in this world. Every day I go to school I think it will be my last because one more Covid infection will probably take me out permanently. I try not to worry about it but I certainly am aware of it. It would take such drastic change to turn things around. I don’t see anyone doing that. Some of you are right when you say no one cares about old people or people who are immune compromised. We live in the jungle and it is survival of the fittest and the richest. The rest will perish. And I do not think things will ever go back to the way they were. I think these are the end times one way or another. A perfect storm.
