When you must rise up after getting knocked down, it is common to reach out for help as you try to scramble to your feet. And many times, the unsuspecting victim of a brutal discard or difficult escape will be confused about where to turn for help. No one seems to understand exactly what has happened to you.
There are two main avenues to transport you out of the dungeon of horrors and back into the world of the living: Traditional medicine in the form of therapy and medication or a less conventional approach of energy work, cord cutting, soul retrieval, and quanta healing called alternative medicine.
From my research and personal experience, you will most likely benefit from a combination of both, and then sprinkle it all with a heavy dose of good ole’ fashioned prayer, faith, and hope.
Traditional Medicine: Treatment with Conventional Methods
Therapy and /or medication is the typical go-to remedy following a toxic relationship. One of the most important things to remember is that all therapists are not created equal, and if they do not have a deep understanding of narcissistic abuse along with experience in dealing with the aftermath, they could do more harm than good. Remember, the road to hell is paved with good intentions. I have encountered numerous mental health professionals who had no idea what this specific type of recovery is like or what it requires. They try to dole out generic one size fits all grief counseling or divorce therapy that does not begin to address the special needs of someone coming out of a shared fantasy with a narcissist.
Medication is the other tool of Western medicine that cures all illnesses. Big Pharma must love the business of PTSD and trauma since they have a pill for everything. frequently, survivors manifest the symptoms of PTSD after being discarded with acute panic attacks and anxiety, insomnia, intrusive thoughts, triggers, flashbacks, and recursive thoughts.
